Follow Friday - A Book to Giveaway?

FF 2013Button 300x300 Feature & Follow #137
Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop put together by two hosts: Parajunkee & Alison Can Read as a way to help bloggers become aware of other blogs and bloggers.

It's a great way to make new blogger friends!

Today's Question:
We always talk about books that we want. Let's turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?

So beyond the standard books I've bought my mom lately, one book sticks out.
I'm ashamed to say it but VERY few of my friends read. I have tons of friends where I work that read, but in real life, nope. One of my very favorite people in the world, Cassie, is a park ranger. She travels the U.S. and works in National Parks. This girl is an adventurer, let me tell ya! She's been to Alaska, to the West and even gave tours of the Lincoln house in Springfield. Right now she's in Florida hikin' next to manatees and alligators.
Anyway, after reading Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, I was astounded by its absolute beauty. The gorgeousness of the writing, the story, the characters all come together to create a perfect world. So when my friend was leaving for her next adventure, I gave her CeeCee's story about finding yourself. The books means a lot to me as well as my friend. How's that for a sappy story? :)
What book have you given away lately?

  1. I'm envious. A librarian! Imagine being surrounded by all those books. In our country, we don't have public libraries where we can bollow fiction books. Sometimes, even in school we don't have fiction books. Siiigh. Saving CeeCee Honeycutt sounds interesting :)

  3. Don't be ashamed! I don't have many friends that read and it makes me sad because I want to discuss books. :/ You're friend Cassie is lucky she has you to recommend books, etc.

  4. I have a lot of non-reading friends too. Trying to convert them is useless. Just be proud that you are a reader! Happy Friday!

  6. Isn't sad when friends don't read. Now that I know a lot of book bloggers in real life I have quite a few friends who read. But, before that, I had very few too. And, I was once one of them. I hope that my friends find a book like I did to ignite their love.

  13. It is mostly people I work with, either at the bookstore, or the English teachers I work with, that read. So that is nice. But yeah, my mom reads, but only certain books. But when I can recommend, I love it!

  15. Not many of my friends read as much as I do either...and if they do, we have vastly different reading styles so I can relate to your situation. The book you got your friend sounds absolutely lovely AND perfect for her :D Fab choice, thanks for sharing & for stopping by earlier ♥
