"Where I Need to Be" By: Kimberly Knight Review

Where I Need to Be
By: Kimberly Knight

Synopsis from Goodreads
Spencer Marshall was done moping. After catching her boyfriend cheating with his secretary, she decides to have a girl's weekend in Vegas with her best friend Ryan. Lady Luck must be looking out for Spencer, because that weekend will change her life forever. Despite what people say, not everything stays in Vegas.
My Thoughts
I’m counting this book for my challenges even though it turned out to be a DNF for me. I read almost to the end, but I didn’t care at all how it ended, so I pretty much had to quit. Life’s too short to read a bad book!
Spencer starts out the story mad that her boyfriend because she caught him cheating. In the mean time, she’s been eyeing a boy at her gym. On a weekend to Vegas with her friend, she sees the boy from the gym and randomly starts dancing with him at a club. The next day at a casino she introduces herself to him and suddenly, they decide to become an item.
Ugh, where do I begin? First off, Spencer was so stinkin’ self-absorbed and just weird that I never liked her as a character. Never. Then she randomly takes this trip to Vegas and starts grinding on this random guy she doesn’t know, but hey, she’s winked a time or two at him at the gym. Weirdo...then the sudden intense attraction left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The random guy is totally self absorbed as well and then there is baby mama drama later in the story. Just a little too much for me, to be honest. I don't even remember the hero's name, that's how little I cared.
I think with different characters I might have liked this story better, but I disliked both the hero and the heroine so much that I simply quit reading. I didn’t care what happened to them, at all, so Where I Need to Be has officially become the first DNF of my year!
